BigQuery: Handling of Nested Data Structures & Row Count Impact

Please note that our BigQuery integration is currently in open beta. The information in this article is subject to change.

BigQuery supports nested data structures natively. When Stitch encounters nested data from sources like Facebook and MongoDB, that data is persisted into BigQuery with its nested structure intact. Because those rows are not de-nested by Stitch, there is no additional impact on row counts when replicating these records.

If you would prefer that data be de-nested, we recommend exploring our Amazon Redshift data warehouse option.

For more information on how BigQuery replicates data and expected behavior, refer to the articles in the Related section.
