Google BigQuery is a fully managed, cloud-based big data analytics web service for processing very large read-only data sets. BigQuery was designed for analyzing data on the order of billions of rows, using a SQL-like syntax.
For more information, check out Google's BigQuery overview.
For security purposes, we recommend setting up a new Google Cloud Platform (GCP) account and project for use with Stitch. The user associated with the account must have:
storage.objects.create, storage.objects.get, and
storage.objects.listobject permissions. Stitch requires these permissions to create and use a GCS bucket to load replicated data into BigQuery.
Even if you're using BigQuery's free trial option, billing must be enabled for your instance. If it isn't, Stitch will encounter issues when loading data into your data warehouse. These instructions will walk you through how to set up and connect a billing account to your BigQuery instance.
We'll go into the setup and permissions required in more detail in the next step.
After you've completed the prerequisites, you can move onto creating a BigQuery account and project and connecting it to Stitch.
