Seeing an 'Not Supported' message for one of your Mongo collections or fields? The majority of the time, this can be attributed to a lack of proper permissions.
If you see that one of your collections is "Not Supported" it most likely means that Stitch doesn't have the proper permissions to replicate it. Be sure to enable your Stitch user to have at least the proper permissions to perform a
count command on the collection.
In Stitch, we use the
listIndexes command to find fields that you can use for Incremental Replication. If the Stitch user doesn't have permissions to run this command on a specified collection, we will only be able to display the
_id field in the Replication Key selection field.
If the collection you're attempting to sync is append-only, this may be perfectly fine.
If the collection isn't append-only, however, another field may be needed. We recommend reviewing the Selecting & Changing Mongo Replication Keys doc for help selecting an appropriate Replication Key.
After you grant Stitch the permissions needed to replicate a collection, you should expect to see the collection and set it to sync in Stitch after the next successful replication job completes.
This doesn't mean that the data from the collection will be immediately available in your data warehouse. It means Stitch has successfully 'detected' the collection and you can now set it to replicate to your data warehouse. After syncing the collection, you can expect to see data after the next replication job.
Still running into issues even after granting the Stitch user the proper permissions? Please reach out to support and we'll gladly help.
