Reauthenticating Integrations

Authorizing an integration grants Stitch the required privileges to pull data from a third party service or your database. Reauthorization is required when these privileges are revoked.

Why does this happen?

This could happen due to a number of reasons:

  • Changes to the credentials used to authorize Stitch, whether that's the username, password, permissions, or API credentials
  • An issue with a third party service
  • An internal issue within Stitch

How do I troubleshoot?

Verify your credentials

First, check that you're using the correct credentials and that they are entered accurately into Stitch. To re-enter your credentials or repeat the authorization process, follow these instructions:

  1. From the Stitch Dashboard page, click into the trouble integration.
  2. In the Integration Details page, click the Integration Settings button.
  3. For databases and some SaaS integrations, you can manually re-enter your credentials directly in this page.
  4. For some SaaS integrations (for example: Facebook Ads), you'll see a Re-Authorize button at the bottom of the page:

Click this button to go through the reauthorization process.

Check your permission settings

Some integrations require certain levels of permissions for us to be able to access your data. If these permissions are revoked or not set up properly for the credentials you use to connect to Stitch, connection problems could arise.

We recommend checking the connection instructions for the trouble integration to see what permissions are required.

Check your API credentials

In some cases, you may need to generate new API credentials to resolve the issue. Check out the connection instructions for the trouble integration for a refresher on how to do this.

What if I still can't connect?

If you've tried all the above and are still having connection problems, please reach out to us. We'll help you get to the bottom of it.
