As we mentioned at the beginning of this tutorial, you can test your Amazon Redshift connection using a compatible SQL client. This step is optional, as Stitch will monitor the connection for potential issues and notify you as they arise.
If you'd like to perform a connection test, use this section of the Amazon Redshift Getting Started guide to use a SQL client to connect to your cluster and run a test query. Should any problems arise, check out the troubleshooting guide to resolve them.
If the connection is successful, you can move onto creating a Redshift user for Stitch. You don't have to do this step if you don't want to, however.
Creating a user specific to Stitch allows you to have more control over the permissions used by Stitch, but it isn't necessary to use the product. Click the button below to move onto creating a Stitch user.
