Connecting AfterShip

Heads Up!

Connecting AfterShip to Stitch is a three-step process:

  1. Add AfterShip as a Stitch data source
  2. Generate a Webhook URL
  3. Set up webhooks in AfterShip

Prerequisites

Your AfterShip account must be a premium account to use webhooks in AfterShip.

Adding AfterShip as a Stitch Data Source

  1. On the Stitch Dashboard page, click the Add an Integration button.
  2. Click the AfterShip icon.
  3. Enter a name for the integration. This is the name that will display on the Stitch Dashboard for the integration; it’ll also be used to create the schema in your data warehouse.

For example, the name “Stitch AfterShip" would create a schema called stitch_AfterShip in the data warehouse. This schema is where all the tables for this integration will be stored.
  4. Click Save Integration.

Generating a AfterShip Webhook URL

Once Stitch has successfully saved and created the integration, you’ll be redirected to a page that displays your webhook URL and token (which is blurred in the image below):

Click the Copy button to copy it.

Note that this particular URL won’t display in Stitch again once you click Continue. Think of this URL like you would your login or API credentials - keep it secret, keep it safe. You can, however, generate another URL should you need it.

Once you’ve copied your webhook URL, click Continue to wrap things up in Stitch.

Setting Up Webhooks in AfterShip

The last step is to setup webhooks in your AfterShip account.

  1. Sign into your AfterShip account.
  2. Click Settings (the gear icon) in the left nav tab.
  3. Click Triggers.
  4. Click the Webhook tab.
  5. In the Webhook URL field, paste your Stitch-generated webhook URL.
  6. In the Version field, enter the number of the webhook version you’re using. As of 1/17/2017, the latest version of AfterShip’s webhook is 4.0. We recommend using the latest version, if possible.
  7. In the Status section, use the checkboxes to select the events you want to track:

  8. When finished, click Save.

AfterShip Data & Replication

After the setup for AfterShip is complete, your webhook data will be continuously replicated through Stitch. To learn more about how Stitch replicates AfterShip webhook data and our recommended strategy for querying, check out the Expected AfterShip Data article.
